BALTIMORE, Md. - Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Chief Col. Woodrow W. Jones yesterday honored sworn and civilian members of the MDTA Police who distinguished themselves during 2016.

"These officers make a difference every day they come to work, either by saving a life, removing impaired drivers from our roadways or by taking dangerous weapons and narcotics off our streets," said Colonel Jones. "I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the men and women who serve and protect Maryland's families and visitors as they travel our great State every day."

Anne Arundel County resident and six-year member of the force, Officer Paul Pastorek, was named MDTA Police Officer of the Year for 2016.
