BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police made four significant arrests during recent traffic stops in Baltimore City.

On Wednesday, May 23, the MDTA Police arrested a Florida man during a traffic stop in Baltimore City for having nearly 200 counterfeit and fraudulent gift cards in his vehicle. At approximately 10:03 a.m., an MDTA Police Officer stopped 30-year- old Palm Springs, FL, resident Orelvis Ventosa Molina on northbound I-895 in Baltimore City for following another vehicle too closely. Ventosa Molina was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra. During a subsequent probable cause search, officers located approximately 200 counterfeit and fraudulent gift cards. Ventosa Molina was taken into custody without incident.

On Friday, May 25, the MDTA Police arrested three people during a traffic stop for having approximately five pounds of methamphetamine in their vehicle.  At approximately 4:55 p.m., an MDTA Police Officer stopped a 2011 Mercedes on southbound I-895 in Baltimore City after it was reported that the vehicle was involved in drug trafficking. During a subsequent probable cause search, officers located approximately five pounds of methamphetamine having a street value of more than $100,000. The three occupants were taken into custody without incident.

After processing, officers transported the four individuals arrested to Baltimore Central Intake Facility for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
