ALERT! E-ZPass Phishing Emails

Submitted by Tamory Winfield on

ALERT TO ALL CUSTOMERS

We want to alert you that several phony emails are circulating informing E-ZPass Maryland customers they have debt to pay for using a toll road. This is a "phishing" email seeking to obtain your personal information. While E-ZPass Maryland periodically sends marketing emails for upcoming events, projects or surveys, we will never send an unsolicited email demanding payment or requesting sensitive personal information such as credit card information, social security numbers, user names, passwords, etc. We encourage you to report phony emails to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center on their website at www.ic3.gov or call your local FBI office. You may also call our E-ZPass Maryland Service Center at 1-888-321-6824 if you have any questions about your account information.

As part of the Serious About Safety initiative, we are sharing a powerful message from Kimberly Sizemore of TSO’s Office of Procurement. Kimberly is also a Mothers Against Drunk Driving advocate who is deeply committed to making a difference after her son was severely injured by an impaired driver. Her story is a reminder of how quickly lives can change and the real impact behind the work we do at MDOT.

Bay Crossing Study

Her message also highlights an important responsibility we all share. If you see something on the road that does not look safe, such as reckless or impaired driving, say something. Reporting unsafe behavior can help prevent serious harm and protect others. Take a moment to watch Kimberly’s story and reflect on how we can all continue to put safety first.
