WORK TO RESULT IN CLOSURE OF CATON AVENUE RAMPS TO NORTHBOUND I-95 THIS WEEKEND
WHAT: Weather permitting, the ramps from eastbound and westbound Caton Avenue to northbound I-95 in Baltimore City will be closed temporarily to traffic.
From eastbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).
From westbound Caton Avenue, the detour route will direct motorists to Washington Boulevard, to INNER LOOP I-695, to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A). A second detour will be to southbound I-95, to INNER LOOP I-695 (Exit 49B), to Wilkens Avenue (Exit 12C), to OUTER LOOP I-695 to northbound I-95 (Exit 11A).
WHEN: Closure will occur Friday, March 27, at 10 p.m. to Monday, March 30, at 5 a.m. All dates and times are approximate and dependent on weather or events.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The ramp closure is part of the Maryland Transportation Authoritys (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and the ramps serving I-95 in Baltimore City.
