WORK TO RESULT IN 24/7 SPLIT TRAFFIC LANES ON
I-695 IN SOUTHEAST BALTIMORE
WHAT: All lanes on the Outer Loop of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) will split 24/7 with one lane to the left and one lane to the right from the Curtis Creek Drawbridge to the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
All lanes on the Inner Loop of I-695 will split 24/7 with one lane to the left and one lane to right from the Key Bridge toll plaza to Exit 1 (Quarantine Road).
WHEN: Weather permitting, the Outer Loop split will be in effect by Wednesday, Oct. 14, for approximately three to four weeks.
Weather permitting, the Inner Loop split will be in effect by Friday, Oct. 16, for approximately three to four weeks.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The lane closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) $5.5 million bridge deck overlay and repair project for the bridges carrying I-695 over Dock Road and CSX Railroad in Baltimore. Lane closures are expected to end in fall 2015, and the project is anticipated to be complete in fall 2016.
