Work to Result in Temporary Closures of Ramps From Southbound I-95 to Southbound MD 295 and Hanover Street to Southbound I-95 in Baltimore City

Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 (Exit 52) will be temporarily closed overnight Tuesday, January 18, through Thursday, January 20, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning each night. In addition, a weekend-long closure is scheduled to start Friday, January 21, at 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, January 24.

When the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 (Exit 52) is closed, the ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 must also be closed during the same time frames.

The detour for the ramp from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295 will direct vehicles to I-695 (Exit 49A), to southbound MD 295 (Exit 7A). Follow this detour for access to Westport and MD 648.

The detour for the ramp from Hanover Street to southbound I-95 will direct vehicles to turn right onto E. McComas Street, to E. McComas Street on-ramp to southbound I-95.

Following unanimous approval from the Board of Public Works, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will begin construction to expand and modernize the MARC train storage facilities at the Martin Maintenance Yard in Baltimore County. Expanding storage capacity at the rail yard is a key component to delivering more frequent service that better serve existing, changing and new travel markets as outlined in the MARC Growth and Transformation Plan.

Hello

The project scope includes increased storage capacity for MARC Trains at the Martin Maintenance Yard (located near Martin State Airport), new tracks with catenary electrification, crossover tracks, a new inspection pit, and equipment that includes water hydrants, air piping extensions and light fixtures to support train car maintenance. The $35 million investment in improvements and increased capacity for the Martin Maintenance Yard is set to begin later this fall, with completion slated for summer 2027. It is supported by a discretionary grant from the Federal Railroad Administration’s Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program.
