WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF

FORT MCHENRY TUNNEL (I-95) IN BALTIMORE CITY

One Bore in Each Direction Will Remain Fully Open

Use I-695/Key Bridge or I-895/Harbor Tunnel as Alternate Routes

 

WHAT:     Two lanes in the southbound left tube (Bore 2) of the Fort McHenry Tunnel and the left lane of the northbound left tube (Bore 3) will be temporarily closed to traffic. The southbound right tube (Bore 1) and northbound right tube (Bore 4), along with the right lane of Bore 3 will remain open to traffic. 

WHEN:   Weather permitting, Saturday, September 11, from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning.

An additional off-peak overnight closure will be required to complete this work. Date to be determined based upon the arrival of necessary materials. MDTA will issue an additional traffic advisory when date is determined.              

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes of I-695 or I-895 during these times.

Note: Lane closures associated with the I-895 Bridge Project wrapped in July 2021.

WHY:  Crews will be installing a concrete cure-in-place pipe lining in the roadway drainage system between the toll plaza and tunnel entrance.
