WEEKEND CLOSURES OF I-395 TO HOWARD STREET ENTERING BALTIMORE CITY
No access to Howard & Conway Streets from I-395; all traffic directed to MLK Blvd.
WHAT: The portion of northbound I-395 (entering Baltimore City) to Howard Street will be closed temporarily. All traffic will be directed to the exit ramp for Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The detour will direct motorists to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, to Pratt Street, to Howard Street. Inner Harbor traffic use Pratt Street.
WHEN: Weather permitting, the northbound I-395 closure will be in effect Friday, Jan. 8, at 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, and Saturday, Jan. 16, at 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The closure is part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and ramps in Baltimore City. The current work on I-395 involves replacing the roadway joints.
