ORIGINAL TRAFFIC PATTERN RETURNS TO
OUTER LOOP I-695 IN SOUTHEAST BALTIMORE
Temporary right lane closures this week
WHAT: The right lane on the Outer Loop of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) will be closed temporarily from Exit 1 (Quarantine Road) to the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
All lanes on the Outer Loop I-695 will return to the original traffic configuration. No split traffic or traffic shifts in effect.
NOTE: All lanes on the Inner Loop of I-695 remain shifted to the left from the Key Bridge to Exit 1.
WHEN: Weather permitting, the Outer Loop right lane closure will be in effect Wednesday, Dec. 9, and Thursday, Dec. 10, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
All lanes on the Outer Loop will return to the original traffic configuration by Friday, Dec. 11.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The lane closure and traffic shift are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) $5.5 million bridge deck overlay and repair project for the bridges carrying I-695 over Dock Road and CSX Railroad in Baltimore. Lane closures are expected to end in fall 2015, and the project is anticipated to be complete in fall 2016.
