MDOT employees recently gathered to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month with a vibrant and engaging event that celebrated culture, community, and connection.

The event featured a special keynote address by Dr. Ahmed Nawaz, Vice Chair of the Governor’s Commission on South Asian American Affairs, who spoke about the importance of representation, cultural pride, and community engagement. His inspiring words set the tone for a celebration rooted in inclusion and understanding.

Attendees also enjoyed a colorful and expressive dance performance by the Natananjali School, showcasing the beauty of South Asian classical dance traditions. The program continued with food tastings that offered a flavorful journey through diverse AANHPI cuisines, along with interactive games and cultural activities that brought colleagues together in celebration.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success. Events like these strengthen our workplace culture by recognizing the diversity that drives MDOT forward.
