MDTA POLICE RESPOND TO SHOOTING AND POSSIBLE ROAD RAGE INCIDENT ON
I-895 IN BALTIMORE CITY
BALTIMORE, MD – On Monday, Aug. 6, at 5:44 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police responded to a call of an injured person on southbound I-895 near Exit 7 - Potee Street. MDTA Police officers arrived on scene and rendered aid to the adult male driver, who had been shot. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital Monday evening.
MDTA Police detectives are investigating this incident as a possible case of road rage. The victim was driving a red pickup truck on southbound I-895 just beyond the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel toll plaza. The driver reported that as he traveled southbound, he was involved in a case of road rage with an individual driving a dark colored Infiniti passenger car. The victim was shot through his driver’s side window and stopped on Exit 7 – Potee Street.
The MDTA Police’s investigation continues. Anyone who was in the area at that time who may have witnessed this incident should call the MDTA Police’s Tunnel Command Detachment at 410-537-1208.
