At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on the westbound Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200, prior to Georgia Avenue. Officers located an adult male victim, who was deceased at the scene.
Crash reconstruction determined that the driver of the striking vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.
Police are looking for a silver or grey vehicle with front-end damage. Anyone with information about the striking vehicle or crash should contact MDTA Police at the ICC detachment immediately at 410-537-6905.
The MDTA Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues its investigation. The identity of the victim is pending notification of next of kin. Westbound ICC traffic was diverted temporarily at Exit 10/Layhill Road until approximately 8:20 a.m. for crash reconstruction.
The Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a nationally accredited force, is the eighth-largest law enforcement agency in the State with more than 500 sworn and civilian law enforcement professionals. MDTA Police Officers provide law enforcement at the MDTA’s highways, bridges and tunnels, at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, and at the Port of Baltimore.
