MDTA POLICE RECOVER EIGHT GUNS DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN
BALTIMORE COUNTY
BALTIMORE, MD – On Thursday, Sept. 6, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police arrested two Pennsylvania men who were in possession of eight illegal firearms.
An MDTA Police officer stopped Damion Orlando Fray Jr., a 21-year-old male from Philadelphia, Pa. and Kody K Freeman, a 23-year-old male from Upper Darby, Pa. on I-95 in Baltimore County for operating a vehicle while using a cell phone and for the driver not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Fray was operating a 2017 Nissan Altima. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located eight firearms, including one assault rifle, various large caliber rifles and a handgun.
The MDTA Police charged Mr. Fray and Mr. Freeman with transporting a firearm in a motor vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, a disqualified person possessing a regulated rifle and a disqualified person possessing a regulated shotgun.
After processing, officers transported Mr. Fray and Mr. Freeman to the Baltimore County District Court Commissioner. Both men were held without bail pending trial.
