MDTA EXTENDS E-ZPASS MARYLAND

CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER HOURS

BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is extending the hours of operation at E-ZPass Maryland Customer Service Centers twice a month starting Monday, Sept. 24.  The hours will be extended until 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month.  The extended hours apply to all MDTA Customer Service Centers located near MDTA toll facilities except at the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (US 40).

“The MDTA is committed to finding new ways to improve our customers’ experience,” said MDTA Executive Director Kevin C. Reigrut.  “Extending Customer Service Center hours provides our customers more convenient access, on their schedule, to the exceptional service they deserve.”

Additionally, the Customer Service Centers located at Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) branches will be open every Saturday starting Sept. 22 except at the Glen Burnie MVA location.  The Saturday hours of operation will be the same times that the MVA branches are open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

“The new hours of operation for E-ZPass Service Centers located inside MDOT MVA branch offices is another way we are providing premier customer service to Marylanders by allowing them to complete their business at a time of their convenience,” said Chrissy Nizer, MDOT MVA Administrator.

E-ZPass Maryland Customer Service Centers are located near all MDTA toll facilities except the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695) and the Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200.  The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

Customer Service Centers also are located at the Gaithersburg, Beltsville, Glen Burnie and Bel Air MDOT MVA branches.  The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with Saturday hours from 8:30 a.m. to noon at all locations except the Glen Burnie branch.

A new Customer Service Center at the Essex MDOT MVA branch is expected to open this fall.

There’s never been a better time to join E-ZPass Maryland!

Serious About Safety: State Highway Administration's Commitment to Safer Roads

This month’s Serious About Safety message comes from State Highway Administrator (SHA) Will Pines, who highlights SHA’s continued commitment to building a strong safety culture and supporting MDOT’s overall safety mission. As we move through the summer travel season, roads across Maryland are busier than usual, making it especially important to stay alert, plan ahead, and make safe choices behind the wheel.

July is Roadside Traffic Safety Awareness Month, a reminder that anyone can find themselves stopped along the side of the road unexpectedly, whether due to a disabled vehicle, a crash, emergency responders, or maintenance crews. In these situations, drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert, and move over when it is safe to do so. Learn more about Maryland’s Move Over Law, roadside safety, and real-time traffic updates through SHA’s CHART (Coordinated Highways Action Response Team) and MDTA's Bay Bridge website.
