MDTA POLICE STEPPING UP

IMPAIRED DRIVING ENFORCEMENT

ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

NOTHING SUPER ABOUT JAIL - DRIVE SOBER

#makeaplan

BALTIMORE, MD - On Feb. 5, Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police will be out enforcing impaired, distracted and aggressive driving on Super Bowl Sunday.

"We want football fans to enjoy themselves during the big game. Be responsible and pass the keys to a sober driver," said MDTA Police Chief Col. Jerry Jones.

The Super Bowl is meant to be fun but not when it comes to drinking and driving. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 29 percent of all people killed in motor-vehicle crashes in the United States in 2015 were killed in crashes involving an impaired driver.

The MDTA Police want to remind you to have a three step game plan prior to going to your Super Bowl party.

1. Choose a designated driver.

2. Call a taxi or ride share service.

3. Take public transportation.

The MDTA Police supports the "Toward Zero Deaths" campaign - a partnership to save lives and prevent injuries on Maryland's roadways. For more information, visit towardzerodeathsmd.com.
