(I-895) Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Closures for the Week of Oct. 5 - 8, 2020

Use I-95 & I-695 Alternate Routes

Two-way traffic will continue at the I-895 Harbor Tunnel with one lane in each direction in one tube through at least Thursday, Oct. 8. The tube closures are for ongoing work on approach walls and tile & pump replacement. Traffic pattern for that period features two-way traffic in the southbound tube.

During tunnel closures at the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, drivers may experience 15-20 minute delays while two-way operations (during which one lane of southbound and northbound traffic is directed into the tunnel that remains open) are implemented. Closure times are dependent on traffic volumes.

July is Roadside Traffic Safety Awareness Month, a reminder that anyone can find themselves stopped along the side of the road unexpectedly, whether due to a disabled vehicle, a crash, emergency responders, or maintenance crews. In these situations, drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert, and move over when it is safe to do so.
