WORK TO RESULT IN TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OF RAMPS FROM SOUTHBOUND I-95 IN BALTIMORE CITY THIS WEEK
WHAT: The ramp from southbound I-95 to northbound I-395 (Exit 53) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to Caton Avenue (Exit 50), to northbound I-95, to northbound I-395 (Exit 53).
The ramp from southbound I-95 to MD 295 (Exit 52) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to I-395 (Exit 53), to Russell Street, to southbound MD 295. A secondary detour will be to I-695 (Exit 49A), to southbound MD 295 (Exit 7A) .
The ramp from southbound I-95 to Caton Avenue (Exit 50) will be closed temporarily to traffic. The detour route will direct motorists to I-695 (Exit 49A), to Hollins Ferry Road (Exit 9), to northbound I-695, to northbound I-95, to Caton Avenue (Exit 50).
WHEN: Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to Exit 53 will be closed Monday, Sept. 14, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to Exit 52 will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
Weather permitting, the ramp from southbound I-95 to Exit 50 will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 16, and Thursday, Sept. 17, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
WHY: Toll Dollars At Work: The ramp closures are part of the Maryland Transportation Authority's (MDTA) two-year, $64 million project to remove and replace the existing concrete deck (riding) surface and roadway joints on mainline I-95 and ramps in Baltimore City.
