Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton Bridge Off-Peak Flagging Resumes 

 

WHAT:           The Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas “Mac” Middleton Bridge (US 301) across the Potomac River will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations alternating northbound and southbound traffic during off-peak hours Monday through Thursday                                                    

WHEN:          Weather permitting, Daytime flagging may occur Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until September 30.

WHY:             Scheduled bridge maintenance. 

Trucks greater than 10-feet wide will not be permitted to cross the bridge during flagging operations.  Every effort will be made to cross all vehicles exceeding 10 feet from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Drivers of vehicles exceeding the width restriction must call 410-537-6800 to obtain approval and schedule an escort.  Calls must be made one hour prior to arrival at the bridge and will only be accepted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  In addition, no overweight vehicles (80,000+ lbs) will be permitted to cross the bridge when there is construction on the bridge.
