Video Tolling Customer Update

Submitted by Tamory Winfield on

Attention Maryland Video Tolling Customers:

Now that DriveEzMD is live, MDTA encourages motorists who have traveled Maryland toll roads without an E-ZPass or Pay-By-Plate account to look for Video Tolls by visiting www.driveezmd.com. Click on "Pay Tolls" and input the vehicle information. You will then be able to see if your trips have posted in the system for the vehicle and make payment. If your vehicle is not in the system, stay tuned as we will continue to post additional Video Toll transactions online that will allow customers to make proactive electronic payments to SAVE 15% (up to $5 total discount) before Notices of Toll Due (NOTDs) are mailed. Payments made electronically after the NOTD mailing date are not eligible for the early payment discount.

Pay-By-Plate is a new payment option that’s a hassle-free way to pay Maryland tolls. After opening your account, tolls are automatically billed to your registered credit card each time you use Maryland facilities, with no need for a transponder or pre-paid toll balance. It may be used on vehicles with 10 axles or less. This account type requires vehicle information and valid credit card information for processing payment. When your vehicle’s license plate is read by MDTA tolling equipment, the credit card on your Pay-By-Plate account is charged for the toll. E-ZPass remains the most cost-effective way to travel toll roads in Maryland, saving drivers up to 77% versus the higher rates and additional paperwork that come with Video Tolls. Sign up at https://driveezmd.com/sign-up/.

If you need to speak with a customer-service representative, the Customer Service Center (1-888-321-6824) is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, there is also a live chat feature available at www.driveezmd.com.

Following unanimous approval from the Board of Public Works, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will begin construction to expand and modernize the MARC train storage facilities at the Martin Maintenance Yard in Baltimore County. Expanding storage capacity at the rail yard is a key component to delivering more frequent service that better serve existing, changing and new travel markets as outlined in the MARC Growth and Transformation Plan.

Hello

The project scope includes increased storage capacity for MARC Trains at the Martin Maintenance Yard (located near Martin State Airport), new tracks with catenary electrification, crossover tracks, a new inspection pit, and equipment that includes water hydrants, air piping extensions and light fixtures to support train car maintenance. The $35 million investment in improvements and increased capacity for the Martin Maintenance Yard is set to begin later this fall, with completion slated for summer 2027. It is supported by a discretionary grant from the Federal Railroad Administration’s Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program.
